This is for you if

  • Your ears feel blocked or muffled

  • Your hearing aids whistle or sound weak

  • You’re due a hearing test and want a clear start

You can ask us to stop or slow down at any point.

01

2 minutes

Ear check

We look in both ears with a small camera. You can see the picture on screen too.

02

10 to 15 minutes

Wax removal

We remove the wax with gentle suction. It’s a little noisy but rarely uncomfortable.

03

2 minutes

Second check

We look again so you can see the difference.

04

After

Advice

We explain how to look after your ears and whether you’re likely to need to come back.

Drops beforehand

Using olive oil drops for a few days before can soften wax and make removal quicker.

If we see something

If anything looks unusual, we’ll explain what we’ve seen and refer you to your doctor.

Hearing aid users

Ear wax is a common cause of a whistling or weak hearing aid. We can check both at the same visit.
