Our story
Why we opened
Timbre
Hannah Reyes spent nine years in a hospital audiology department. She liked the work, but appointments were short, and many people left with more questions than answers.
In 2017 she opened Timbre on Alder Street with one test booth. The idea was simple: give people enough time, explain things properly, and only recommend hearing aids when they will make a real difference.
We are still small and still independent. No hearing aid company owns any part of the clinic, and nobody here is paid commission on what they sell.

How we work
What you can
expect from us
These are the rules we set when we opened, and we still follow them.
01
No sales targets
Everyone here is paid a salary. Nobody earns more if you buy hearing aids, so there is no reason to push you.
02
Prices in writing
You get the full price on paper before anything is done. If something changes, we tell you first.
03
Time to talk
A first appointment is 45 minutes, not 20. That leaves time to explain your results and answer your questions.
04
Care after you leave
Adjustments, cleaning and repairs are included for as long as you own hearing aids you bought from us.

The clinic
Inside
the clinic
Sound-treated test booth
Outside noise is kept out, so your results reflect your hearing and not the traffic on Alder Street.
Two quiet consultation rooms
Each has a large screen, so you can see your results while we talk them through.
Repair bench on site
Most hearing aid repairs are done here rather than sent away, which is why many are fixed the same day.
Easy to get to
Free parking behind the building, a step-free entrance, a lift to Suite 2 and a hearing loop at reception.

Our history
How the clinic
has grown
We have added services slowly, and only when patients kept asking for them.
2017
Timbre opens on Alder Street with one test booth and one audiologist.
2019
We start offering ear wax removal by microsuction.
2020
Callum joins, and we set up a repair bench so hearing aids no longer need to be sent away.
2023
We add tinnitus appointments after more and more patients asked for help with ringing.
